These tools give screening values and model-based estimates, not diagnoses. Each page names its method, the population it was developed for, and its limits.
These estimates cannot replace clinical assessment. Ask a qualified clinician about any decision that depends on your health.
Which tool fits your question?
Adult BMI divides weight in kilograms by height in meters squared and places the value in an adult screening range. It does not assess body composition or diagnose a condition. The page links to the source for the categories and explains when the measure is unsuitable.
Pregnancy Due Date uses the first day of the last menstrual period and a simplified cycle-length shift to estimate a date. It separately counts weeks since the last period. Ultrasound and clinical assessment can change dating; ask a qualified clinician for care decisions.
TDEE estimates adult daily energy expenditure from a predicted resting value and an illustrative full-day activity factor. Its food-Calorie number describes modeled expenditure, not a prescribed intake or weight-change plan. The result states the original equation's population and activity assumptions.
Macro Split converts a Calorie total and three percentages supplied by the visitor into approximate grams. It does not choose a diet or an energy target. The TDEE page reports resting expenditure but does not claim to measure basal metabolic rate.
Predicted BMR applies the weight-only rows of FAO/WHO/UNU 1985 Table 5 without an activity factor; it is a different named method from the predicted REE used inside TDEE. RFM estimates body-fat percentage from height and a specifically measured waist, without diagnosing a condition or claiming to replace a scan.
Water Intake subtracts recorded beverage volume from a goal supplied by the visitor and counts selected container sizes. It does not infer an individualized water requirement or prescribe a daily target.
Each tool shows its formula, a worked example and the limits of its result. Read our calculation methodology for the shared rules.
Health questions
01Can a calculator diagnose a condition?
No. BMI, body-fat estimates and energy models are screening or planning aids. A clinician interprets them with your history and examinations.
